What will I owe if I am selected for a team?
Half of the club fees ($375) will be due immediately. The other half ($375) will be payed with a posted-dated check for February 1st of the following year. We accept cash or check. Sorry, we do NOT accept credit cards.
Additional costs?
As a USA Volleyball affiliated program, each player will need to become a registered member of the USA Volleyball Great Plains Region. To do this, each family will need to create a Sports Engine account to register. The registration fee is paid directly to the Great Plains Region and is in addition to our club fees. Note: Sports Engine is used by many different sports organizations throughout the country so you might already have an account. No need to create a new one. Once selected for a team, more information will be provided to complete this requirement.
When are tryouts?
We usually post the schedule for our tryouts around the beginning of October. At that time, you will have an opportunity to pre-register for our tryouts. This gives us an idea of how many players to expect at each tryout and saves you time when you arrive.
Is there a tryout fee?
Yes, there is a $10 tryout fee (cash only) paid when you arrive at the facility.
What age group do I play in?
USA Volleyball age cutoff is June 30 . To determine what age division you are eligible to play in, determine the age you will be on June 30.
Example 1: If your birthday is on 2 July and you turn 13, that would mean you are still 13 on June 30 of the following year, so you would play in the 13u level.
Example 2: If your birthday is on June 29 and you turn 14 by June 30 of the following year, you would play in the 14u level. (even though you were 13 the entire season)
How many teams are selected in each age group?
For age groups 10u-13u, we will create as many teams as possible. This will also depend on staff availability. For age groups 14u-18u, starting with the 2024/2025 season, we will only select up to two teams. We generally select 9-10 players per team but exceptions are made for certain circumstances.
Where are practices held?
All practices are held in Bellevue--either at Mission Middle School, Bellevue West or East HS or at the Lied Activity Center.
When are practices for each age group?
Since we are a fairly small club, and we use Bellevue Public Schools as our main practice facilities, we do not have an established set day for each age group. Once the teams are selected, we ask for each family to identify any conflicts you may have and we set practice schedules that work for the majority of the players. It doesn't always work out for every player but we try very hard to accommodate most conflicts. The more flexibility you have, the easier it is to create these schedules.
When do practices start?
Practices will start in December with some practices on Sunday and other practices during the week depending on court availability. All teams will take a 2-week break over Christmas and New Years and will start back up the first full week of January with 2 practices during the week. Sundays will be reserved for playing in tournaments January through the completion of the season.
Will practices ever get cancelled?
YES. Since our club uses Bellevue Public Schools (BPS) facilities, we follow the rules and policies governing BPS activities and are at the mercy of other activities. If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, club practices along with all other activities are also cancelled. Also, if other school activities are rescheduled on our practice nights, we may get bumped again. Club directors will work with coaches and players for rescheduling make-up practices.
Where are tournaments held?
All local tournaments are held within the Omaha Metro/Council Bluffs/Lincoln areas. No overnight travel is required unless teams elect to attend a National Qualifier.
Teams have the option to attend the ASICS' Presidents Day Tourney (held in Omaha at the CHI Health Convention Center) for an additional fee.
